Q: What is the difference between Hog Roast and Spit Roast
A:A Hog Roast pig (or other meat) is cooked in a tray in our roasting oven. A Spit Roast pig (or other meat) is cooked on a spit in our roasting oven. Both methods produce equally succulent tender meat, the choice between the two methods usually comes down to the number of guests we are catering for as the Hog Roast method can cater for slightly larger parties of guests.

Q: How long does the meat take to cook?
A: This depends on the size of the pig however the average is between 6 to 8 hours.

Q: How many will it feed?
A: Again depending on the size of pig it can feed between 50 and 250 people, to cater for larger parties/groups we would use more machines and cook more pigs. If you supply us with the number of guests you need catering for then we can determine the size of pig you require.

Q:Do you just do hog roasts?
A: No, we can offer a range of different roast meats and a good selection of vegetarian dishes.

Q: How much room do you need and do you require power.
A: We need a 3mx3m level site to erect our gazebo and serving tables (2), we would also ideally need an electric supply to the cooking area. However we can supply a generator (at a small surcharge) if an electricity supply is not feasible.

Q: How much will it cost?
A: Every event is different, we have provided some sample menus on the web site and are happy to quote based on these menus or will tailor make a menu to meet your requirements and budget.

Q: Are you registered and do you have insurance?
A: Yes to both, we are registered with our local council and the catering association NCASS and we have employee and public liability insurance.

Q: What size access does the Hog Roast machine need?
A: We require a gap of 840mm ( 33"). If there are steps to negotiate we would ask for assistance in manouvering the machine on them.
